    Within the past few years, it's started to feel as though designers are dropping from the official New York Fashion Week calendar en masse. Some, like Proenza Schouler or Altuzarra, left the city for seemingly greener pastures abroad. Others, like Rebecca Taylor, abandoned the fashion show format altogether. In a world increasingly dominated by social media, putting on a traditional runway no longer makes sense for many.
